It can be tough to know how to recline mamaRoo when you’re not sure what all of the buttons do. In this blog, we will explain how to recline your mamaRoo in both directions, as well as how to adjust the seat and canopy.
Unlike Fisher-Price’s models such as Fisher-Price Sweet Snugapuppy Swing which has 2-position reclines, mamaRoo has mutliple-position reclines. mamaRoo uses AC power and must be plugged in and can expect gentle to strong motions on its reclinable seat.

So, can you adjust or recline mamaRoo?
Yes, you can adjust and recline mamaRoo up to 45 degrees angle which should be sufficient for your baby. If your baby has reflux, this recline feature is especially helpful, as it allows you to place your baby in a more upright position which helps reduce the amount of reflux.
The seat on the mamaRoo is fully adjustable, allowing you to recline it to any position that suits your baby’s needs. In addition, the canopy can be adjusted in several different ways, including height and direction.
How to recline mamaroo:
The default seating position of mamaRoo is slightly reclined. You can, however, recline it further. When fully reclined, the mamaRoo 4 infant seat is at a 45-degree angle. Unfortunately, you cannot recline further than this 45-degree angle as it does not recline to the point of laying flat.
To recline mamaRoo seat, you’ll have to adjust the white strap underneath the seat as shown in the image below;
Close to the base, mamaRoo has a large white strap that is used to adjust the seat back. There are two ways to adjust this strap – by loosening or tightening it. If you loosen the strap, you can recline the seat back further. If you tighten the strap, you will return the seat back to its upright position.
You can also recline the mamaRoo canopy, which is useful for providing additional shade and protection from the elements. To adjust the canopy, simply press the button located on the side of the infant seat to move it up or down. The height of the mamaRoo can also be adjusted by pressing a lever on either side of the base as needed.

In the mamaRoo 4 models released after 2017, the process of reclining it is similar with slight variation.
To recline the mamaRoo3, you will need to pull the plastic recline lock using your hand or your foot and you’ll notice that the seat can now move along the bar easily.
When the recline lock is still pulled, you can adjust the mamaRoo to the angle of your choosing.
Once you decide on the angle you want your baby to be on, you can push back the recline lock located close to the base of your mamaRoo.
Overall, adjusting and reclining mamaRoo is a relatively simple process that only takes no less than 30 seconds. Whether you need to recline the infant seat or adjust the canopy, you can easily do so using the controls on your mamaRoo.
